Neuro Pathway is partnering with a respected hospital system in the Pittsburgh area to identify a highly skilled Surgical Neurophysiologist to support a growing intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) program.
This opportunity is ideal for a CNIM-certified professionalwho thrives in the operating room and is committed to delivering high-quality,real-time neurophysiological monitoring that directly impacts patient safetyand surgical outcomes.
You will play a critical role in protecting neurologicalfunction during surgery through multi-modality monitoring in the operatingroom, ICU, and diagnostic settings.
Position Highlights

On-Site in Pittsburgh, PA
Rotating On-Call Weekends
Up to 25% travel for case coverage

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform real-time intraoperative neuromonitoring (SSEPs, MEPs, EMG, EEG, and related modalities)
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and anesthesia teams to optimize monitoring strategies
- Identify and communicate waveform changes promptly and accurately
- Exercise independent clinical judgment in high-acuity surgical environments
- Troubleshoot equipment and signal challenges efficiently
- Perform portable ICU and OR testing with telemedicine oversight when applicable
- Apply electrodes and acquire high-quality recordings in accordance with best practices
- Complete secure electronic documentation per departmental policies
- Maintain equipment readiness and uphold patient safety standards
- This role requires strong technical proficiency, critical thinking skills, and the ability to perform confidently in fast-paced surgicalsettings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Neuroscience preferred)
- CNIM certification required (ABRET)
- CPR/BLS certification (AHA-compliant)
- Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
